How Nali Uses AI & Business Data
This page explains Nali's AI and data design in plain language. The Privacy Policy provides the broader privacy terms.
What can be sent to AI
When an AI feature is used and permission is enabled, Nali may send the user's request and relevant business context needed to complete it to OpenAI. This can include business profile information, product information, recent conversation context and relevant business-memory records.
What Nali remembers
Nali is designed to maintain persistent business memory around the AI model. Memory may include facts, owner decisions, operating policies, sourced research, customer insights and results. Sources, confidence and visibility can be tracked so research or customer statements do not automatically become authoritative business facts.
Website Nali
The customer-facing website assistant is intentionally limited. It is designed to receive only customer-safe business knowledge rather than confidential, operational or owner-only memory. Website visitors do not receive the owner's API key or private Nali controls.
Your OpenAI API key
If a user chooses to supply an OpenAI API key, the key is stored securely on the device. When the user enables approved server or website Nali features, an encrypted copy may also be stored in Nali's server credential vault so those features can operate without exposing the key in website code.
Owner controls
Nali separates knowledge from authority. Knowing something about the business does not automatically give Nali permission to disclose it or act on it. Owners control AI permission, connected services and operational authority.
